A wine with enveloping nose of blueberry tart, sour cream, iodine, and crushed rock that carries to the broad palate - a little roasted hazelnut chiming in. The fruit feels rounded and lush but held in check by pulsing acidity and fine-grained tannins. This wine is perfect for Italian cuisine.
This is a complex and multi-layered wine with hidden depths that unfold every minute you taste it. Savory and with masses of fruit, serious structure and a lingering finish. Smooth and well balanced with flavors of black cherries and a rich texture. This was our first vintage of Aglianico and it received a silver medal in the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition January 2017.
On initial tasting, this wine opens with aromas of fresh citrus, melon and touches of tropical fruit. Zippy acidity leads to a smooth, pleasing mouthfeel with a long, tasty finish of minerality.
