Emilio Lazy Pizza

Naan BreadSometimes, I am not interested in cooking in a traditional manner and start looking for short cuts. Here is one that I use to make pizza/flatbread at home that is super simple to make.

  • One (or more) Naan Breads from the store
  • Make the Lazy Pizza Sauce (recipe below)
  • One bag of mozzarella or blended Mexican cheese
  • One package of Prosciutto or Serrano Ham
  • One package of pepperoni
  • One Sweet onion thinly sliced
  • One ripe tomato thinly sliced
  • If you wish you can add whatever veggies you wish or already cooked ground meat.

Turn the grill on high and let it heat up to at least 450 F. If using oven, turn the heat on to 450 F.  Brush the Naan bread with olive oil. Spread three tablespoons of the sauce on the Naan Breads. Layer the tomatoes, onion, prosciutto (you can break it into uneven chunks), the pepperoni and top it with as much cheese as you like. Using a large spatula place the bread on a pizza stone or grill rack (if you don’t have one) when the proper temperature is reached. It will about 5 minutes to cook. Don’t burn it!

Lazy Pizza Sauce

  • One can or jar of marinara sauce
  • One tablespoon of Italian herbs
  • 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of curry (optional)

Mix it all well. Ready to place on flatbread. Below is an example of the many options you can put in this type of flatbread. This one has portabella mushrooms and two quail eggs for toppins. Delicious!
